TENSION AND MUSCULAR HEADACHES

Tension and muscular headaches comprise the most common cause of headaches. These headaches are bilateral and are often band-like, stretching from the back of the scalp to as far forward as the eyebrows. Neck, upper back and shoulder pain are commonly associated with tension and muscular headaches. Where neck and shoulder pain is one-sided, headaches may be confined to that side. In many instances headaches are associated with fibrositis, and management will entail treatment of the underlying musculo-skeletal problem. Both tension and muscular headaches respond well to acupuncture therapy.
